Asbestos Surveys
Regulations
currently in force on the Island for the control of work with asbestos
include "The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2003 (CDM Regs)"
and "The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 2003", both
of which were approved at the January 2004 sitting of Tynwald.
Under this legislation responsibility
and potential liability applies similarly to individuals and
organisations involved in the maintenance, refurbishment, alteration or
demolition of residential property. This relates to the protection of
employees or operatives who might come into contact with or, through
maintenance/ alteration or repair works in your building, disturb
asbestos-containing materials.
Dalrymple Associates have personnel
who have successfully undertaken British Institute of Occupational
Hygiene training and have the requisite P402 – ‘Building Surveys and
Bulk Sampling for Asbestos’ certification, and attained the necessary
level of proficiency. We are proud of our long established reputation
for independent, impartial integrity and deliver all professional
services in full compliance with our ISO 9001: 2000 Accredited Quality
Management System.
Dalrymple Associates will tailor our
method of reporting to suit your requirements: some clients prefer
reports in electronic format for direct input into their property
management database systems, whilst others prefer hard copies. If you
wish, we can prepare and maintain your asbestos survey property
register. Should asbestos be found we can obtain competitive quotations
and manage the safe removal on your behalf quickly and effectively.
Alternatively, the asbestos-containing material may be in good condition
and not necessarily presenting a risk to everyday occupation of the
building, in which case we can offer advice on the safe management of
the material.
